Next UCC Environmental-Justice Training Program

October and November 2012

Pilgrim Firs Camp and Conference Center, Port Orchard, WA

Rev. Jim Deming, UCC Minister for Environmental Justice, has announced the next Environmental Justice Training Program, to be held at Pilgrim Firs Camp and Conference Center in Port Orchard, Washington.

This exciting initiative is open to all persons regardless of religious affiliation. The program's “train-the-trainer” format gives every participant the knowledge, tools, and methods to bring the information to their home communities and take action.

The events start on the first day at noon with lunch, and end at noon on the third day, allowing for travel time on either side. The cost of $175 includes lodging, meals, and all materials. The training program has partnered with the local non-profit PugetSoundSage to understand first-hand the effects of globalization at the port of Seattle on the workers and community around the port.

The dates for the trainings are:

1.       October 16-18 (for those who cannot come on weekends)
2.       November 16-18 (for young adults)
