Earth Day and Ongoing 2013
For more than five years, a church in Kailua, Hawaii, has made a commitment to an impressive range of environmental actions.
Among its many programs, Christ Church Uniting Disciples and Presbyterians, has used RENEWAL in an Adult Study Class – about stewardship of the environment.
The chair of CCU’s Green Team, Dr. Charlene Hosenfeld,, is also the author of Eco Faith - Creating & Sustaining Green Congregations (The Pilgrim Press - 2009).
In the church’s January 2013 newsletter, Dr. Hosenfeld wrote an iinspiring report that describes the remarkable projects that just this one church has taken on. It’s an eye opening account of how much can be done when faith is the motivating force.
